Music Tour
As you read this some of our senior music ensembles are on the college’s third music tour. We’re currently in Queensland performing at several spots including Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar, Kickback Cove at Dreamworld, and Broadbeach Mall. Perhaps the highlight will be the Senior Stage Band’s performance at the prestigious Southport Yacht Club on Friday night, crooning for the local highbrows as they rage against daylight savings. All of this before our final performance at Marina Mirage Farmers Market on Saturday morning.
Music Tours are an invaluable experience for students to expand upon the learning that takes place week to week, and to gain real-world experience of being a musician. Tours provide opportunities to perform for new audiences and develop collaborative skills by working with students from other schools, understanding the role that music plays in their lives.
Year 3 Music
In a previous article, I mentioned Year 3 will be choosing their 2025 instrument in Term 4. We have decided to postpone this until the beginning of Term 1 next year. This is to give them more time to try out the instruments.
God bless,
Mr Tim Chavura
