Building Strong Partnerships
At our College, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for the success and well-being of your child. As we continue our journey through the term, I want to emphasise the importance of open and regular communication between you and your child’s teacher. Together, we can create an environment that nurtures your child’s growth – academically, emotionally and spiritually.
Your insights and observations about your child are invaluable. You know you child better than anyone and sharing what you see at home – whether it is a new interest, a change in behaviour or concerns about well-being – helps us understand their needs and tailor our approach. Similarly, we are here to keep you informed about how your child is progressing in the classroom, any challenges they may be facing, and the success they are achieving.
Identifying needs early
When we work together, we can address any concerns early on, whether they are related to learning, social interactions, or emotional well-being. Intervening early can make a significant difference in your child’s development.
Creating a consistent approach
When we share information, we can ensure that strategies used at College align with those at home. Whether it’s homework routines or behaviour strategies, consistency creates stability for your child.
Celebrating achievements
It’s just as important to share the positive moments. If your child is excelling in an area or overcoming a challenge – we want to celebrate those wins together!
Strengthening your child’s confidence
Knowing that home and College are working together boosts your child’s confidence and reassures them that they have a strong support system behind them.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
These are coming up on Tuesday 18th and Thursday 27th March. Details regarding online bookings will be sent to every Junior School family early next week.
Email or Phone
Feel free to reach out anytime with questions or concerns. Our classroom teachers will respond within 1 business day (Monday - Friday)
I encourage you to share both challenges and triumphs, as they both play a vital role in helping us to support your child’s educational journey. No concern is too small, and no success is too minor. Together we can provide the best support possible for your child’s growth.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. Let’s work hand in hand to make this a wonderful term for everyone.
God bless,
Mrs Jenny Squire
Deputy Principal – Head of Junior School

Sport
It has been a busy start to the year with lots of events starting out in the first few weeks.
CSSA Football Trials
During week 2, three of our talented students, Ethan O, Ryan O, and Liam L, had the opportunity to trial for the prestigious CSSA Boys Football team. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm were evident throughout the process, and they proudly represented our college in the trials.
We are thrilled to announce that Liam has successfully made the team and will be representing CSSA at the upcoming tournament. His hard work and determination have truly paid off. Additionally, Ryan has been selected as a shadow player for the 16-man squad, an achievement that showcases his skills and commitment to the sport.
We look forward to supporting them as they compete in the tournament. We wish them all the best in the upcoming event and are confident they will continue to perform with the same passion and excellence they’ve shown so far.

Swimming Carnival
During Week 4, our Junior School students dove into the much-anticipated Swimming Carnival, where excitement, energy, and friendly competition filled the air! The event was a spectacular display of talent, sportsmanship, and team spirit, with every student giving their all in the pool.
With a delayed start to the day, students and staff had a fantastic day at Oran Park Leisure Centre during our 2025 swimming carnival.
We’d like to extend a big thank you to all our students who participated, and to the teachers and parents for their support throughout the event. Every swimmer deserves a round of applause for their commitment, energy, and sportsmanship. The Junior School Swimming Carnival was a true celebration of our school’s values. We can’t wait to see what next year’s carnival holds!
CSSA and CIS Nominations
From time to time, the College is able to nominate some of our exceptional athletes to trial for CSSA or CIS representative teams. - Go to CSSA website to see the list and dates of these trials (cssa.net.au)
- Email me (swright@opac.nsw.edu.au), expressing your child’s interest, background and skills in the sport
