Exciting Music Events

Year 4 Students Chose Their Instruments – Week 4

In Week 4, Year 4 students had the exciting opportunity to choose the instrument they would learn throughout the year. From trumpets to flutes, and clarinets to percussion, there were plenty of options to explore. It was a wonderful chance for young musicians to discover their musical passions and start their musical journey.

First Rehearsals for the Intermediate Concert Band

The Intermediate Concert Band, made up of over 30 talented students, kicked off their first rehearsals this term. This group will bring fantastic music to the school community, showcasing their skills and teamwork. We’re looking forward to great things from such a large and enthusiastic ensemble.

Year 11 and 12 Music 1/2 Students Visited the Opera House – Week 5

In Week 5, Year 11 and 12 Music 1 and 2 students visited the iconic Sydney Opera House for the annual Encore concert. This event celebrated the best Music performances from the 2024 HSC year. It was an inspiring opportunity for senior students to see some of the most outstanding young musicians in NSW and gain valuable insights for their own performances. Our own Aaron Chu received an Encore nomination for his outstanding HSC performances. May our students be inspired by the musical excellence displayed on stage!

Stage 3 Choir – Sing with Friends!

The Stage 3 Choir is off to a great start, with over 30 enthusiastic students attending the first rehearsal on Tuesday morning. This vibrant group meets every Tuesday at 8am in H3. It’s a wonderful opportunity for Year 5 and 6 students to sing, develop confidence, and make new friends. No experience is necessary—just a love for singing!

New String Orchestra

We’re excited to announce a brand-new ensemble: the String Orchestra! This group is perfect for students who play the violin, viola, cello, or double bass. It’s a fantastic opportunity to improve musical skills, learn ensemble playing, and have fun performing with other young musicians.

The cost for joining the String Orchestra is $220, and rehearsals will be held weekly. The exact day and time will be announced soon, so stay tuned!
