A Kaleidoscope of Learning Adventures
Kindergarten Science Explorations
Our curious Kindergartners have been busy little explorers this term, investigating where our food and clothes come from! They have been learning all about the amazing variety of plants and animals that provide us with the things we need to grow healthy and strong within a unit called Farm to family.
Their recent trip to a real farm brought their learning to life. They met adorable farmyard friends and saw firsthand how plants and animals are cared for. And the excitement doesn’t stop there! Our classrooms have just welcomed some very special guests – fluffy chicks and adorable ducklings are hatching right before their eyes! This real-life experience is sure to spark even more curiosity and wonder about the amazing world around us.
Debating
The debating team has had an action-packed term, honing their critical thinking and communication skills through a series of exciting debates. They kicked things off by convincingly arguing the negative side of the motion “Australia should increase taxes on imported goods” against Macarthur Anglican School. Their well-researched arguments secured them a well-deserved victory. Just this week, they took on the challenge of arguing the affirmative for “All Australian primary school students should learn a second language” against George’s River Grammar. While they didn’t clinch the win this time, all debaters performed admirably and should be incredibly proud of their efforts. These experiences provide a valuable platform for our students to develop critical thinking, communication, and research skills – all essential tools for success in academics and beyond.

World Science Day
Our celebrations for National Science Week are happening a little bit earlier this year and will be held next Tuesday the 24th of June. Our College is buzzing with excitement for the theme Species Survival: More than Sustainability. Our classrooms will be transformed into mini-labs, filled with engaging experiments and activities designed to spark curiosity and ignite a passion for science in all our students.
Younger years will be treated to a spectacular science show incursion, where they will be watch demonstrations and learn about all things slime! Meanwhile, Stage 2 students will be embarking on an exciting adventure to the Senior School science labs for the afternoon. There, they’ll get hands-on experience with advanced equipment and delve deeper into the fascinating world of Science.
